artist Dr. Alphonso Sanders,
who will be performing
Christmas tunes, both
old and new.
Dr.
Sanders is the Chair
of Fine Arts and Director
of the B.B. King Recording
Studio at Mississippi
Valley State University,
where he is involved
in archiving the music
of Delta musicians. He
continues to present
music workshops and lectures,
educating audiences on
the culture of blues
and jazz music.
One
of his roles at MVSU
is presenting a blues
clinic for young musicians
during the annual B.B.
King Workshop. His new
CD is "Mississippi
Influences" (2009,
Talking Wind Music),
featuring Dr. Sanders
performing original compositions
on saxophone and lead
vocals.
The
Delta Blues Museum is
located at #1 Blues Alley
in Downtown Clarksdale.
